RetroBrowser+ 1.3.8 Update: Faster Libraries, Better Artwork and Controller Improvements
RetroBrowser+ 1.3.8 is now available! This update brings faster game library loading, improved automatic artwork detection, easier BIOS configuration, and several interface enhancements.

Faster and Progressive Game Library Loading
The RetroBrowser+ 1.3.8 update introduces faster, progressive library loading, particularly for CD-based gaming systems.
Instead of waiting for the entire library to load, games can now appear progressively, making large collections easier to browse and manage.
Improved Automatic Game Artwork Detection
We’ve improved the automatic artwork matching system to better recognize game titles, even when filenames contain missing spaces or punctuation differences.
Additionally, the one-click media search can now retrieve several types of artwork at once:
- Game box art
- Title screens
- In-game screenshots
You can also import your own local game images using PNG, JPG, JPEG, or WebP files, giving you more control over your library’s appearance.
Simplified Sega Saturn BIOS Configuration
Setting up Sega Saturn emulation is now easier thanks to a single all-region BIOS entry.
This simplifies the configuration process and makes managing Saturn BIOS files more straightforward.
Improved Controller Configuration and User Interface
RetroBrowser+ 1.3.8 also introduces improvements to the controller configuration interface and default button mappings.
These changes help make gamepad setup more intuitive across supported gaming systems.
We’ve also refined several interface elements, updated translations, and introduced additional usability improvements throughout the extension.
